Social Empowerment

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.” - Margaret Mead

Currently, there are around 600 million people living in extreme poverty, with nearly half of our world’s population living on less than $5.50 a day.

The statistics are simply overwhelming and far too much for a single human, business, or organisation to overcome alone.

The truth is, eradicating extreme poverty is going to be a global effort. We believe in the power of small actions multiplied by many people to make a difference.

We have chosen Magical Light Foundation, a humanitarian foundation that focuses on lifting the disadvantaged out of poverty in places around Asia, to donate a portion of our profit to as part of our actions to make a difference in our world.

You can read more about our donations to Magical Light Foundation here.

For us, making a positive change in others’ lives is not just about who we support with our donations – it’s about our everyday actions, too.

All of our pieces are made ethically in Indonesia to support the rights of our tailors to a living wage and safe working conditions. It is our mission to educate and raise awareness about the state of the fashion industry for the empowerment of the women who make our clothes.

Sadly, the fashion industry is flawed in more ways than one. It still has a long way to go in terms of the diversity of models and the inclusivity of designs, and we want to be part of the change.

Our mission through our social empowerment section is to learn about and appreciate our cultural differences whilst showing the individuality of the women who wear our pieces and to raise awareness about the ways we can all make a positive difference in the lives of others.
