Day 1: Practice Self Care
Nourish yourself – eat!
Take your medication or supplements
Drink enough water (around 2L is good)
Get in some exercise (30 minutes, ideally)
Go to bed nice and early for a quality night’s sleep
Day 2: Practice Self Kindness
On the second day, listen to your inner voice very carefully. Are you talking to yourself like you would talk to your closest friend? Are you beating yourself up when mistakes happen or are you practising acceptance? Support yourself and forgive yourself.
You might be surprised how often we can talk to and treat ourselves in an unkind way without even knowing.
Day 3: Write a Gratitude List
Gratitude brings us back into the present and reminds us how lucky and loved we are. Write a list of 20 things you are grateful for at this moment, whether it's physical objects that you’re grateful to see, hear and have, or what's going well for you in your career or social life.
Day 4: Clean Your Space
Cleaning your space can mean many things to many people but it always makes us feel good inside afterwards! On day 4, either dust over your happy space and put things back in order or, if you feel like it, do a full KonMari style de-clutter!
If you choose to get rid of items, don't forget to explore alternative ways of donation to know where your items are really going. For example, list items on selling apps or donate to homeless shelters rather than op shops (did you know that our thrift stores are overflowing?).

Day 5: Meditate
On day 5, try to meditate anywhere between 5 and 15 minutes. It’s best to meditate either early in the morning (to start the day fresh) or right before you go to sleep (to wash away the day’s worries).
Day 6: Create Something
Being creative is often forgotten about in our self love journeys. While some of us might be more creative than others, what matters isn’t being the best but simply making something… or anything!
The art of building something innovative or something that’s uniquely you can help you find a sense of purpose or it can just be an emotional outlet. So, get out your supplies (your brush, hammer, guitar, or even Photoshop) and get creating!
Day 7: Pamper Your Body
Congratulations, you made it! Celebrate your week of self love by pampering your body – whether that’s an at-home spa day or a booking at your local massage or acupuncture centre.
While it may seem silly, paying attention to our physical bodies and taking time to care for our skin, hair, nails, muscles, and more can help us really reconnect with ourselves and feel much better.
At the end of your 7 days of self love, remember to carry with you what you’ve learnt or what spoke to you the most. Try to practice these tasks as often as you can and never forget to be kind and loving to yourself and those around you.
